Peach Festival 2011

Last weekend we took a spur of the moment road trip to Colorado for the Peach Days Festival they have near Grand Junction.

Axel and Evey were troopers on the 5 hour drive. Both of them took a long nap and the portable DVD player was a life saver!

Here they are relaxing in our hotel room after the long drive was finally over.

This is the Peach Festival itself...which truthfully wasn't much to brag about. Just two long rows of booths full of expensive souvenirs. But there was this train ride that Axel absolutely had to go on. He LOVED it! Totally worth $4....at least in my opinion :)

Cute Axel, he's all boy!
Evey didn't care so much for the train, she's just happy being with Justin.

Here is the one peach item we purchased at the festival. We thought it was necessary to at least get something peachy there, and the $15 peach pie was out of the question. Yes, that's right, $15 for a peach pie. No please :) So instead we got some vanilla ice cream with fresh peaches. Now that was yummy!

My kids sure do love their ice cream!
It was an awesome little weekend getaway. Perfect way to end the summer :)

The Zoo with Grandma and Grandpa Chambers!

The famous Lion drinking fountain
Axel loved the Dinosaurs, but he almost loved his map even more! He still carries it around.
My cute mom and dad with Axel, Evey and Tabi. They had such a fun time!
