She is finally here! And I could not be happier! She was born on Wednesday January 20th at 11:24pm. She weighed 8 pounds 11 ounces and was 21 inches long. When she was born, she had red hair, but now it's darkened slightly. She is absolutely perfect!
I officially went into labor around 2:00 that afternoon. I had been having false labor (or as I liked to refer to it, "practice labor" :) for a about week prior to her birth. I would have contractions all night and then they'd go away in the morning. But finally on the 20th, they didn't go away. We stayed here at home until about 8:30, when I decided we had to go to the hospital. First we had to drop Axel off at Grandma and Grandpa Jenkins house. His aunt Amanda was so nice to take care of him!
We got up to the hospital at 9:45pm and I was dilated to about a 7. The nurses at the front desk didn't believe I was in labor at first-I think it was because I was smiling, laughing and joking around with Justin. The nurse at the front desk asked me if the contractions were painful and I said that they were. I told her that I was just done and wanted to have the baby, and she responded, "Well, you may think your done." Ha! I was a little surprised that she said that to me. But it was awesome when she found out I was a 7. She looked at me and said, "So, your really in labor then huh?" Um, yes I am, thank you very much! She was actually a very good nurse - definitely my favorite one there.
So they put me in one of the delivery rooms-which were Huge! I just walked around the room and talked with Justin and my mom. I didn't want to lay down because the contractions were more intense that way. Everything was moving along so fast, which I was so grateful for. I stood there by the bed and leaned on it when I was having contractions. I stood there until I felt like pushing her out. Once I laid down in the bed, I had her about 10 minutes later at 11:24pm.
So total, we were at the hospital about an hour and a half before I had her. Which made me so happy. I really don't like hospitals and I didn't want to be there a long time before I had her.
It was such a smooth delivery, no complications or any trauma. We are so blessed to have this happy, healthy, beautiful baby! When they laid her on my chest, I still couldn't comprehend that she had just been in my belly. It really is such a miracle.

My wonderful mother in-law Marie passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2010. She was such an amazing person. I was so blessed to have her as my second mom for 3 years. Her viewing and funeral was on the Wednesday and Thursday before Christmas. Christmas just wasn't the same without her. We all love and miss her so much!

We blessed our little girl on Sunday. It was so fun! She is two months old now - I can't believe how fast time goes by. But she is getting cuter everyday. She smiles all the time and is getting chunkier by the minute. I just love her so much! Here are some recent pictures of her.
She lost all the hair from the top of her head :( It looks so funny! It's finally starting to grow back, and it looks like it is still coming in red. Where did this red hair come from?!

Last night we gave Evey a bath, and when we got her out she was crying pretty hard from getting so cold all of the sudden. So I wrapped the towel all around her and she abruptly stopped crying. So I lifted the towel from over her face to see why she stopped, and she was sucking her thumb! It was the craziest thing. Here are the pictures - she still looks pretty sad though, even with the thumb in her mouth.
